Re: [SPAM] Re: MuCap
Peter,
I see your point that you don't want too much additional work and that
any further changes are in principle a source of distraction. This
morning, Mr. Gnädiger asked me about the reply to his proposition and I
explained him our concerns. Nevertheless, I showed him the pictures
especially the third one you send to me (see attached lager.jpg) that
was very good to understand the mounting. In the second attached picture
is the scheme of the proposed modification. The red new blocks are
standard plates with 60mm height available at the storage. There is only
need for longer screws then. He assured me that they can do it until
Wednesday evening before the survey group comes if they know it on Monday.
If we follow your suggestion and postpone the modification for the time
after the run, we have to lift the rails again. For that we have to be
aware that the existing 60mm support for the rails need to be changed
due to the metal shielding. This (plus the additional time for survey of
the rails) will add up on the total amount of time for the exchange.
For now I told Mr. Gnädiger that we are rather not planning the change
and that in any case we would wait until Steve arrives on Monday (is
that date correct?).
Best greetings
Peter
PS: I had a look at the document for Mike and I couldn't think of more
than what Fred wrote.
PPS: Are we going to get a new pressure gage for the chamber gas bottle?
Or we wait until we can take the one from MuLan?
