Re: MSCB
Hello Francoise and Julia,
I would suggest that you first try the program called msc
provided with the Midas distribution. It is in the directory
$MIDAS_ROOT/mscb. It may require root privileges to access
the USB port (as with mscb_scs900_frontend). Within msc,
do "addr 1" to address the node, then commands such as "info",
"write 9 3.14", etc., to make sure the the computer and MSCB
bus are properly communicating. The mscb_scs900_frontend
should probably be stopped before running msc.
As far as the mwpc_hv_frontend, it does seem to run for me
(logged in as "data"). It started, anyway, and the ODB was
not wiped out in the process. You are using
"CHAMBER=EPC1 ./mwpc_hv_frontend" to start it, right?
Regardless, if the CHAMBER environment variable is not set
it should calmly exit after writing a message to midas.log.
I corrected the log file path in recover.odb and also in the
present ODB, so you can check the midas.log file to see if
there are any helpful messages.
Good luck.
