Re: MSCB

Hi Steven, Hi Julia,

Thanks for the answer. I have killed the mscb_scs900
frontend and try to run msc. The answer is

"Cannot communicate with MSCB submaster at usb0
Please disconnect and reconnect submaster"

Therefore, soemthing is wrong with the usb.

I am not at PSI tomorrow and have no idea what to do
remotely for it. If you have any idea, please send a new
email with some clear statement for Julia. She is not used
to work with hardware nor linux, nor c.

For the mwpc_hv_frontend, I indeed was runing iwth the
correct chamber definition. I just started it now and it
works. This is great, because it was not working before.

Thus, Julia, you can start in the lower left window of
desktop 4 the program CHAMBER=EPC1 ./mwpc_hv_frontend and
you will see the exact information we spoke together and
with Malte. By the way, to quit this program, you have to
type "shift 1", namely the ! sign.

In the upper left window, you can open the odb (odbedit) and
go in the equipement and the correct chamber.

Now I hope that the main program (upper right window) will
or is working. There is still some communication
problem. Maybe the connection in the usb are not fine. As I
mentionned in this email, I have kill the program
remotely. To start it again, do the ./mscb_scs900_frontend.
(to run the program msc that steven speak about in his
email, do
1- be root with the su command
2- cd $MIDAS_ROOT/mscb
3- ./msc

For the calibration itself, refere to previous email from
steven.

Hope some success will come soon.

best regards

Francoise
