Budget

The collaboration is presently estimating the cost of constructing the µLan Detector and the associated custom electronics. Many pieces of support equipment such as workstations, digital oscilloscopes, tape drives, the nitrogen lasers, standard NIM, CAMAC and VME units and enclosures, the PMT HV system, cabling, and other items already exist. We list the major new items that must be designed and built or purchased from a commercial vendor.

These estimates are included in table 5.

Table 5: Very rough cost estimates for the µLan Detector major components and associated electronics.
Item Comment Cost (k$)
Electronics Design new WFD 50
WFD production BU EDF estimate 100
PMTs/Bases 375 at $500 each 187
Support Stand   20
Target system   5
Scintillator and Guides 360 @ $200 72
DAQ equipment   75
Total   $\approx$ $509
