Re: PNPI information

Dear Genna,

Thanks for your mail!

I am very sorry to hear that your mother is so ill. I hope, she can
recover in Gatchina.

Now to the protium question: It seems that we have nothing better
at PSI than 3 ppm D admixture. The measurement at the ETH Tandem
accelerator was not yet be done until the special ion source is
repaired. But Dr. Doebeli promised me, that it may be done rather
soon.

Ad 2.: Conc. moisture device, I do not understand your remarks.
Do you have a new Russian device? - As you know, we did first
interesting studies with the American device "PURA". Conc. this
matter I strongly recommend that you discuss it with Sasha, Peter
and Marat.

Ad 3.:Our secretary (Anita) has sent me the new "rules" for visits
as follows:

	******

For the visa application the following documents are required:

- questionnaire (s. attachment) ???

- copy of your passport

- copy of your diplome

- letter from your institute confirming that you will be sent
to PSI for carrying out experiments, that you will stay employed by this
institute during your stay here. If more than one stay is planned during
one year please mention that for the period from e.g September 21, 2005
to September 21, 2006 several visits are planned.

- curriculum vitae

- copy of your letter of employment with information about your
salary or a letter confirming that you are employed from .... to ... as
... with an annual salary of .... .If you don't want us to know the
details about your salary, you can fax this letter directly to the
Migration Office, for attention of Mr. Flückiger, Fax Nr. +41 62 835 18
29. Please send us the other required documents first and wait for an
email of us before faxing it to the Migration Office.

If possible, please send the documents as PDF files by email to
anita.vanloon@psi.ch <mailto:anita.vanloon@psi.ch> .

Frankly, I feel totally upset with these requirements - they are crazy!
I have to discuss this with Peter who visits us next Monday. - Also,
I did not receive the questionnaire from Anita. (Peter do you have it?).

Unfortunately, Anita is now in holiday for next 3 weeks, so I am afraid,
not much will happen in the comming weeks.

With best regards

Claude
