Re: FADC & DEMON

Dear Fred,

We sent today the PCB card by Federal Express.
The FedEx Tracking Number is : 8238 5071 2252 from I.D. No 0402
In the US , call (800)247-4747 or visit the web site at www.fedex.com
You should receive it by Monday 4 July 2005

By some difficult surgical cuts we were able to diminish the size of
the flat ground surface below one of the FADCs.
On the other one, the knife went to far and cuts some lines. So the
card can be used for FPGAs behavior tests as well as for the
communication with Ethernet.
One channel can be used for data input as well. Due to an internal
offset offset off +0.289 Volts, the present input signals should be
single ended positive ranging up to +1.039 V and down to -0.471 V The
full range being something like 2x 0.75 Volts = 1.5 Volts

I had no time to go further than making very rough tests of currents,
tensions and signals. Without FADCs the current is about 380 mA and 780
mA with one FADC. Your program is presently loaded into the FPGA
chips. Note one LED light is blinking, telling the number 0 of the
front FADC ( lights when at least one zero is at the inputs since
current is driven in that condition. (see the scheme and your program).
I used the USB Xilinx platform unit to load the program.

We are presently building a second unit, still with surgical work on
it. So we will have each of us one card to start searching for eventual
other mistakes.

I wish you great pleasure.
René
