Beam for now and fall

Hello,

I have spoke with different people today about the beam
situation. There is still some very bad beam, due to some
oil in the vacuum system of the main accelerator. As long as
this problem is not solved, there will always be some
discharges around both septum. During 4 days, it is the
extraction one and then the injection one.
The beam was totally off again for days, while the septum
were replaced again and again.
We have to expect very unstable beam if we are lucky.

Due to all the beam lost which took place the past few
weeks, Scheuermann has shifted some of the spring
experiments in the fall. Thus, he will NOT have any spare
week to give to us. Thus MuLan will have access to the piE3
area only on September 12, as planed.

I know that it is not really some good news, but that is the
best we have at the moment.
