Re: caen tdc

Hi Peter,

I've included some plots which you might find interesting. With the 25
MHz external clock connected, I recorded runs at various duty cycles; I
hoped to find a duty cycle where the artifical time structures
disappeared. The plot which is shown for each duty cycle is gondola 1:
IU-OU times. Notice that I was never able to eliminate the artifical time
structures entirely, even in the vicinity of 50%. This is cause for
concern.

I was in communication with the FAST people during run6, but when I sent
them an e-mail in January (about the CAENs) I did not receive a reply. I
may have worn out my welcome. But perhaps I should just try again. I
will also send an e-mail to the CAEN people about my latest findings, and
see if they have anything to offer.

At this point, I don't know what else to do about the CAENs. Do you have
any advice?

Tom
