Dear Colleagues 1. The Horizon machine (palu) will undergo a major hardware upgrade to add 576 CPUs. This upgrade will start on Friday 21 July 2006 morning, until Wednesday 02 August 2006 at the latest; during this timeframe palu will not be unavailable. Palu will be upgraded to version 1.4 of the programming environment. This upgrade may be carried out during the above-mentioned timeframe for the hardware upgrade; more precise information on which PE version will run on palu upon hardware upgrade completion will be provided as soon as possible. 2. The 64-bit Merlin3 cluster is in production. Please, see http://ait.web.psi.ch/services/linux_new/hpc/merlin3/ for more details. 3. The Merlin cluster (node01 - node40) will be upgraded to Scientific Linux 43 on July 4th - 5th. Login to Merlin will be closed during this time.
