RE: MuCap project

Peter,
This sounds like a very good and sensible plan for us all. If
the LT02 is packed carefully (lots of foam), it should be fine. If it
breaks, we'll buy the new drive for it and have it here then (finally
breaking the asymmetry). As long as the 2nd LT03 gets to PSI by the
time we are in "production" we can be rather flexible.

By the way, Peter Winter found where the missing tape charge
ended up ... with usual Swiss banking efficiency, it was charged to my
"personal" account there (where I had stored some 1400 ChF or so a few
years back of my own money) and he found that my account is -6200 CHF !
Can you imagine how badly they must be screwing up major contracts at
that lab?

	Regards,
	Dave

(still no Head decision by the way)

Dear Michelle,

We just finished a very successful experimental run at PSI and
collected ~25 TB of good data. It was a 24/7 effort over 10
weeks, so we are exhausted and happy, that is worked out to
be our most productive run.

The LTO2 tapes are being shipped to UIUC right now. Then
we would like to copy the data to the archive immediately,
as our tape robot will only stay at Illinois for a few
weeks, before being shipped to Switzerland for the next
experiment. Alas, the fast link form physics has not been
finished yet. So may I ask, if we could connect our tape
robot at NCSA, to expedite the copying with high bandwidth?
If that's possible, Steve and Brendan will gibe you the specs
of the robot.

Last, but not least. Are there any news concerning our
allocation request?

Many thanks in advance.

Peter
