RE: AW: UCN kicker signal
Robert,
You had one other question ... about the power supplies. From
this distance it is hard to affect actions at PSI. We are strongly in
favor, of course, of some sorts of stable supplies. We had repeated
troubles with power supply drifts. Very importantly for MuLan, in our
upcoming run we will give up on the in situ beam measurement wire
chamber during production runs. We will have the chamber, but we will
only be able to check the beam spot periodically (every 4 h or so).
That means we will blindly count on the stability of the beam (yes, we
will monitor closely the power supplies online, but that's not quite
good enough).
So, we are interested in any developments there.
Dave

Dear Robert,
Thanks anyway for warning us. MuCap can deal with this issue in a
similar
manner as Mulan, I believe.
Best regards
Peter
