Hi, When we made the light guides for mucap we sent the light guide strips out to bid. I faintly recall "Acrylite GP" being the acrylic of choice. I have attached PDF's of the chemical resistance and light transmitance values for Acrylite GP. When cleaning acrylic strips we generally use ethanol. If the acrylic was machined under stress then cleaning with ethanol will make the material "craze". Brendon is correct about the gluing procedure. Shoot the UV lamp/wand through the light guide.
