led update

Dear Cenap,

I hope you are having a wonderful vacation. I am writing
you two updates on led and emc, so remind ourselves on the
status. My flight will leave Champaign on May 15 in the 
evening, so we will have 1.5 days to discuss. 

Conc the electronics transport I would have the tendency to
pack our stuff when Steve and I are leaving and send it to
Switzerland. But we can still discuss that.

Now the led status:

- mail: I posted LED related mails on
  http://www.npl.uiuc.edu/exp/mucapture/coll/led/maillist.html
  so that you are up-to-date

- I ordered and received some 1 mm plastic fiber. I also asked
  Mishubishi and was pomised a sample from Ken Eben. It has
  not arrived yet. The distributor mentioned in his mail
  provides a good price.

- As regards connectors, there are three interesting types
   - the IF-C-S4 $10.00 offered by Industrial Fiber Optics
   - Toslink seems to be industry standard and cheap
   - the good but expensive sma
  I think you have to make the decision what you want.

- Steve Williamson designed the LED system for Hermes, he will
  show us his design and experiences once you return. He also
  gave me a nice connectors for panel monting and mentioned
  NPL might have more. Actually Stev had reservations
  conc sma.
