MuCap Shift Duties Run 8

Overview

Main tasks:

• Familiarize yourself with the manuals.
  
• Read the recent elogs and the recent shift_sum.xls.
  
• Follow measurement plan (verbal, white board or from log book)
• Make sure that DAQ s running. This is monitored on the MIDAS status webpage.

• monitoring tasks: In addition to the MIDAS status page you should monitor the
  experimental equipment via
• monitor CHUPS, it is essential for the safe operation of the experiment ( elog 501)
• fill out the checklist (see elog 353)
• observe online monitor
• check HV of ePC1, ePC2 (dolphin wind 2) and TPC (dolphin wind 1) ( elog 472)
• observe slow control
• observe visual scalers
• Logbook entries:
• the main logbook is the elog. Report  there
• significant changes and observations (make elog even if it is recorded in shift_sum.xls)
  
• at the end of a shift, the shift leader has to write a brief summary, e.g. shift goals, good runs and special
  shift events.
• The shift_sum8.xls on dolphin contains a list of run with brief comments. Update those regularly with gnumeric and attach the latest version of the shift_sum8.xls to your shift summary elog. The main purpose of the shift_sum8 is a structured overview of the runs with a brief description of each run. Longer explanations belong in the e-log and can be referenced in shift_sum8. ONLY THE SHIFT IS ALLOWED TO SAVE THE shift8_sum.xls FILE TO AVOID OVERWRITING.
