Re: Where we stand right now

Dear Larry,

Just returning from the experiment, I can understand your feelings
regarding the work overload and the need for vacation.
But at least, MiniBoone made it to the cover of the latest CERN Courier...

Well, with conceptual design I mean
  - a complete AutoCad dwg including all parts of the construction
(without detailing the parts to the level of workshop drawings)
  - of course some renderings would be nice, but we can do that ourselves
    after getting Rick's dwg's.

After that we would review it here and immediately contact machine shops
to find out the time required for manufacturing.

We should have the finished parts at UIUC mid September.
Then we could assemble the detectors here and ship them so that they
arrive at PSI mid October.
This is already stretching the schedule, to give everybody more time.
We have to start mounting the complete detector at PSI
starting Oct 14, at the latest.

Apart from the time required for finishing the conceptual design, the
biggest uncertainty is the production of the parts. The conceptual
design is really on the critical path here, because we need it to
start a meaningful discussion with machine shops and secure a slot
for this job in their schedule.

Thanks for yours and Rick's efforts

With best regards

Peter
