Dear Colleagues,
The sessions of the next PSI users meeting for particle physics
- BV38 - are scheduled on February 14-16, 2007, according to the
following agenda:
Wednesday, February-14-2007
special reviews by the subcommittees on the EDM and
mu-e-gamma experiments
- morning: detailed reports (parallel meetings in OSGA/E6
and OFLG/402)
- afternoon: overviews and progress reports (open meeting
in the PSI auditorium)
Thursday, February-15-2007
general meetings
- morning: closed committee session (OFLA/209)
- afternoon: BVR open meeting (PSI auditorium) with
presentations of new proposals, addenda,
progress reports, etc.
Friday, February-16-2007
- morning: closed committee session (OFLA/209)
- afternoon: presentation of the committee recommendations
and proposed schedule to the spokesmen by the
president and the coordinator (OSGA/E6)
The research program in particle physics at the 600 MeV
accelerator and the beam schedule for the 37 weeks period
from April 12 to December-24, 2007 will be at issue.
PSI plans to introduce in 2007 a new three-weeks production
cycle. It will consist of ~18 days essentially un-interrupted
beam time followed by a ~3 days pause for service, beam
development and operators education.
NEW PROPOSALS, ADDENDA, LoI's to be discussed at BV38 should be
submitted to Mrs. Anita Van Loon, PSI, keeping the deadline of
January 15, 2006. All documents should be submitted in electronic
form, preferably as a pdf file.

OFFICIAL BEAM REQUESTS for 2007 should be made on these forms and
mailed to the science coordinator <claude.petitjean@psi.ch> with
deadline January 15, 2007. The requests should be accompanied
by a written justification or a progress report in electronic form.
Groups with major research programs should be prepared to present
an oral progress report at the BVR.
TEST BEAM TIME can be requested at lower priority in areas which
are not entirely used by approved experiments. A competent local
person must be named, responsible for the test activity, the
participants and all safety.
Before approval and setup in the experimental hall or on test sites,
every experiment has to submit the safety declaration form available
on our web site.
The detailed program of BV38 will be announced on our web site in
January 2007. We hope for very stimulating meetings.
Attention: the PSI guesthouse will be closed from January until
February 20, 2007. For accomodations, nearby hotels need therefore
to be reserved timely!
