Hello again--
shortly after sending out my previous e-mail, I discovered Peter's
Mathematica notebook of kinetics calculations, posted under the heading
"Kinetics" on the page
http://twiki.npl.uiuc.edu/twiki/bin/view/Main/GeneralPK
By playing around with this file, I have confirmed that my simKinetics.C
macro and Peter's Mathematica calculations yield identical first moment
results, IF they are given the exact same values for the kinetics
parameters as inputs. So, I think we agree in that respect. However, I
am also finding that the 1st moment is not only sensitive to the molecular
formation rates, but it is also quite sensitive to the values of Lambda_S
and Lambda_T that are used, since they determine the molecular capture
rates.
Anyways, I will continue to explore this subject.
Regards,
Tom
