Folks, Rob asked me to send this out a formal reminder about the Collaboration Meeting in November. It’s been a while since we discussed it so I definitely agree we need to begin organizational discussions. The following is a draft:
Please read all of this and comment.
1) Main plan (full group meeting) a. Friday, Nov 17 and Saturday, Nov 18th (all day, both days). Frankly, this is already not enough time given the recent experience from MuCap. We will need time to “think” and discuss, especially for an “unblinding” meeting. The only option is to start earlier but that won’t work for everyone so I suggest a staggered start with topics that can be worked on by specialists. Let’s call this a.. 2) Pre meeting (for people who can come a couple days earlier) a. Wed, Nov 15, Thursday Nov 16th (most of both days). Suggested topics: i. Systematics discussions for experts. Goal of this meeting would be to have a couple people summarize the findings and discussion at the Main Meeting so that we can be more efficient on some information exchange. ii. Analysis planning for 2006 data. Here a few of us will set down and work out a structure of how to process the data and divide up the work. Plan to report plan to full collaboration (if there is time) 3) Post meeting (anyone want to stay longer?) This can go on be teleconf as well. a. Papers to be written include: i. NIM-beam ii. NIM-detector/electronics/daq iii. 1st lifetime results iv. G_F from lifetime (extended version of KL’s note)
AGENDA ITEMS for main meeting 1) Dan’s 2004 Analysis a. We will have a written report to read in advance b. We must check off on things we agree on and, c. Discuss the tough issues that remain. i. Sulfur asymmetry – keep it or not? ii. Systematic error table 2) A quick look at a 2006 data sample a. Might we want to “unblind” a piece of this if we do it in a very clever way? (by piece, 10 ppm, so 1%) b. Analysis plan overall between institutions 3) The next run (notice I did not say “next year”) a. When, what, who, how? 4) Publications a. See above
