I'm not sure if you were aware of this forthcoming paper by Ando and
Fearing on "Ordinary muon capture on a proton in manifestly Lorentz
invariant baryon chiral perturbation theory":

I was made aware of its imminent appearance a couple months ago when I had
a telephone conversation with Fearing about my g_P and capture questions.
According to his description, in it they apply relativistic HBChPT to muon
capture using so-called ``infrared regularization'' formalism.  I glanced
through it and, to tell the truth, I can't make heads or tails of it.
They give a lot of LECs and formulas, but I couldn't find any numbers for
g_P or Lambda_S.
