RE: exhalo drawings
Hi,
I'm adding Claude and Volodya to this email since they are now informed and involved to this design.
Unfortunately, I was informed this morning by Urs Heidelberger from the vacuum group that Mr Ruettimann is ill today and tomorrow. He had promised to finish the drawings by today but that won't happen. Now, we hope that he's going to return on Wednesday and then Claude receives the drawings for the feedthrough. He then will bring that to the workshop west since I already investigated that they should have the capacity to finish the two feedthroughs within ~1 week.
Then, together with Volodya I went to talk to Mr Bugmann. I gave him the order for the 1mm scintillators plus the ligh guides and aluminium tubes. For technical reasons they will probably mill the light guide. Now he also asked if we want to wrap the light guide with aluminium foil. If so, the .2mm gap isn't sufficient. He said that there might be a standard pipe with OD=25mm and ID=21mm. If we take that and the 200mm light guid, we'd have some more space for the wrapping. He did not have a better solution other than glueing things together. Should I instruct him to go for this solution with the wrapping?
Last but not least, we were talking about the time for production. For the scintillators and the final polishing of the light guide, Mr Bugmann need Mr Bracher (the expert for that). Unluckily, Mr Bracher is in holidays now until middle of next week. Therefore, we cannot expect these parts to be ready before end of next week!!! And even that is not sure. Claude will call Mr Bugmann on Thursday, 21 or Friday, 22. to check the status. However, I expect that we'll have these parts only in the week when I'm back.
That's the latest news.
