Peter,
	The note looks good so far.  As a backup idea to the development
muon detector, you might consider a version of the plunging probe with a
horizontal scintillator disk, or possibly even a plate (the assembly
would then have to be made before the vacuum pipe is closed).  That
would be a poor man's version, but the PMT readout is now tested and the
light level is good and reliable.  We'd rotate the pipe systematically
(easy) and of course we'd only get at most about 2 locations in z
coordinate.
