  A more harmless explanation could be that one picture is mu- and
the other is mu+ .
  I think we established with mulan that the EMC profile
for a kicked beam and an unkicked beam are indeed different.  I am
specifically thinking about the feature we refered to as the "wings" that
jutted out on the lower corners in the kicked distribution.  
 There should be a higher fraction of sneaky muons in the clocked data 
because lots of fills have no muon during the beam on period, so there
should be a slightly different distribution.

  With the time slices, what we should be able to see is that the
distribution changes quickly and becomes stable very shortly after the
kick has been completed.  This would be consistent with Ron's
studies/simulations for mulan.
   I will try to get these plots you requested made soon.
