Update
Hello Peters,
Here is an update on the run9 analysis setup, for your reference.
1) Data Transfer
a) Fixed scripts so that script continues over the tape boundary (no
more resetting)
b) Something has been cutting off the connection from the NCSA side
during the late afternoon, all other transfer times are quick
c) Ten tapes have been transferred so far
i) When uninterrupted, we have had transfer times of 7h7m,
6h58m, 7h30m (recently)
ii) It is probably fair to say that 3 tapes/day would be quite
reasonable, losing only about 3 hours/day due to missing random down
times etc.
d) 42 tapes remain . All data should be transferred by Friday
February 10th a the current pace. I will update the projection for Tuesday.
2) NCSA installation
a) ROOT, MIDAS, JAVA installed and compiled
b) I have successfull run the mu program with whatever defaults were
set when I downloaded it from CVS
c) I have used the analyzer file that corresponds to the Tree setup.
d) I need to play with the ODB settings to use the appropriate modules
e) I need to investigate what scripts Steve has available for
productions/data transfers etc.
f) I am maintaining detailed notes on what I needed to do to get
things set up in my personal elog
http://mu03.npl.uiuc.edu:8000/kiburg/42 . I
started with Steve's NCSA cluster notes and added my own details.
Best Regards,
Brendan
