Re: prog05 run8.tex

Dear Peter and Steve,

I have just completed a first draft of the Run8.tex section. I will leave
it to Steve to make any further modifications/additions as he sees fit.
The only thing that I have left to provide is figures, if desired (see
below). I have left a few inline comments for Steve where quantities need
to be filled in, or more commentary might be called for. Here are some of
those questions and comments for you, mostly regarding run8.tex:

1. (Peter & Steve) In the Figure 1 caption: To be accurate, the scattering
centers aren't only the quartz frames; the lower scattering appears to be
dominated by the TPC supports.

2. (Steve) Do you know what the size of the Run8 raw data was in
terabytes? I've left it marked with a question mark in run8.tex.

3. (Steve) You might want to check my usage of your software term "Tree"
in run8.tex. I've assumed it's interchangeable with the Berkeley term
"Ntuple".

4. (Peter) What should the pp\mu molecular formation and ortho-para
transition systematic corrections be in Table 2? I only know that the
errors are 10 ppm.

5. (Peter) What analysis plots would you like for us to include? The
"wall effect" falloff? Something with impact parameters? The gondola
effect"? (Probably inadvisable, since it's not a success.) I can't
really think of a nice, compact figure aside from another pileup-protected
lifetime plot.

That's all,
Tom
