Dear friends,
since we will confer tonight and tomorrow, Malte and I like
to inform you on our proposals conc. the tpc operation for
the coming days (and week):
1) tomorrow, Tuesday afternoon, DEC-06, we should switch
operation from mu+ to mu- (preferably with the kicker running).
It is important to see what progress we have made with
impurities after one week of stable CHUPS running and to
take samples right after this production.
2) on Wednesday, DEC-07, we want to take 2 samples of 10 litres,
and after that refill CHUPS with as much protium as possible
through the Palladium filter. The samples will be taken through
different ports (one at CHUPS, the other one at the tpc) and
gives the chance for the Chemists to check the consistency of
analysis.
3) later on Wednesday, Malte will start a renewed effort to raise
the tpc voltage to 5.45 kV and hopefully keep it there if stable.
4) for the production week starting Wednesday night, DEC-07, we
propose to perform a mu- production run similar to the present
mu+ run, with the kicker. This will give us necessary information
for the planning of run10 in 2006.
Thats all for now.
Best regards
Malte and Claude
