Re: wfd formatting errors




Hi Peter,

I certainly agree the neutron counters need careful set-up
of their gains and understanding of their pulse shape
discrimination. Most valuable in our Triumf experiment was
initial running with pi- stops in hydrogen - using the 8.9
MeV, BR=0.4, pi- p -> g n neutrons to calibrate the system.
I'm assuming that doing this in the gas target is either definitely
not feasible or not definitely not  a priorty. Thus I think
we'll need  to resort to gamma sources (Na22, Cs137)  for energy
calibration and Am-Be for n/g discrimination.
