Hi Peter,

sorry, I just realized that I never responded to your e-mail from last
week... Concerning the impurity studies, I'm afraid that I haven't really
done any new, in-depth analysis since Spring '04 (see my worklogs
April/May/July 2004). At D. Hertzog's recommendation, I added the control
capture search (which looks leftwards toward earlier times) to provide
information on the background level; however, I discovered this Spring
that I had committed a pretty big mistake in its implementation, so it's
only recently begun providing worthwhile results. I've also implemented
some minor tweaks in the capture finder in an attempt to clean up the
capture identification in our latest production analyses, but nothing
important.

If you want to get some idea of the relevant statistics (background
estimates, etc.), then we can supply you with the appropriate summed ROOT
files. If you have specific questions about the actual implementation, I
can answer them, but we don't have any documentation explaining the
details. You are, of course, welcome to inspect the actual code in
the MBAS modules MCoincidenceCalcs and MTPCImpurityCaptureSearch
(MCoincCalcs prepares the bank of mustops for searching, and MTPCImpurity
actual conducts the capture search). I've tried to provide descriptive
comments, so the code is semi-readable, but it might be a bit of a slog
for a first-time reader.
