first version of skimmer committed
I have just committed the first version of the raw data skimmer.
To use it, you will need to "cvs update" your "mu/compress"
directory and rebuild there, since there is now code to compress
and uncompress the HITS and STCK banks.
The following MODULES file will then give you a skimmer:
MUnCompressRawData
MUnDuplicator
MCaenCompProcessRaw
MRolloverCheckMQL
MRolloverCheckC
MTDC400ProcessRaw
MMuSCAnalysisMQL
MMuSCAnalysisC
MSkimmerMQL
MSkimmerC
which you can use with "./mu -i run00000.mid -o skim00000.mid" or
something of the kind.
Output files seem to come out at about 15-20% of the size of the input
file, as we expected.
At this point, I would say that it's suitable for initial testing only,
not yet for production use. At this point, if it breaks, you get to
keep both pieces. :-)
The next issue that I will look at is that there are lots of mismatched
CAEN/COMP eSC hits; I don't think it's necessarily a mistake, just that
real hits are cut at the boundaries of the accepted time windows.
Consequently, I think that we should move the block cut on CAEN/COMP
mismatches before the skimming stage. I will look into doing that.
Thanks,
