Dear Peter and Steve,
May I ask you to do the following: on each TDC400 (or at least a few of them),
look at the "W1" and "W2" outputs from the TDC on the scope, comparing them
against the CAEN enable signal. These signal are outputs from the TDC that
indicate when it is enabled for storing data into RAM1 and RAM2, respectively.
They are ECL signals on one of the ribbon cable connectors; I think that their
position is labeled on at least one of the TDCs, and it's listed in the
manual (which I don't have with me right now--just let me know if you can't
find it, though).
All of this, of course, assumes that you haven't yet found a source for
the current data truncation problem.
