Dear Alexei and Anatoly,
Gennar and Evgeny,
I understand that PNPI is making the flanges
for the new hydrogen pressure vessel.
Please note one important change in comparison
to the first vessel which we have at PSI,
which I would very much ask for to be done.
It is easy to apply during making, does not have any
impact on the safety, but is incredibly useful
for the magnet and makes its operation much safer.
Presently:
The magnet tubing passes through four screw holes
of the backside flange (the side the TPC goes in)
which are on the 45 degree angles
(see attached pdf-drawing-old flange)
New Flansch:
Cut out a notch at the position of the srew holes
(see attached drawing-new flange) instead of making only a hole,
so that the tube can be laid into the notch
and does not have to be put through a hole.
We can then use steady mounts on the magnet
which makes it very much easier.
Thanks,
Best regards,
Bernhard
