The original dlt was created with dd if= of= . Alas, the default blocksize
leads to a slow reading speed. So I created a new tape tdc99.2, with the command
dd if=$disk/file.$ii  of=$dev obs=100000
This was tedious with one dlt drive only, I used the scripts
cp_from_dlt
cp_to_dlt
where the files are buffered on disk. However, the first 11 files were written twice.
So one has to use fsf 11, before analyzing this tape. The new dlt speeds up reading dramatically.
Check tape content with  check 0 > tdc99.2
